The front lawn of my school is the artifact I chose. How might a front lawn of a school be of any importance? Whenever the snowy, frigid weather begins to turn into warm and cozy breezes, all the students gathers outside and sit on the front lawn. Here, everyone is brought together to share a love for our school and ultimately a love for each other. Even though people might have dissimilar lifestyles, the school is what unites everyone together under one roof. Whether someone is Asian, White, African American, etc.. everyone is looked upon the same.
Of course there is a immense percentage of kids with Iranian backgrounds in my school but what school doesn't contain large groups of kids from different cultures? Whenever the weather turns nice, a bunch of my friends and I would run outside and enjoy each others time out on the lawn. Especially during my senior year, all the seniors would come together and share our last moments of our high school journey together. It was like our own little community secluded from the rest of the world. It is one of those things that I will immediately think of when looking back at high school. Whenever I go back home and pass that green, freshly cut lawn, I will always think of the laughs and the smiles of my surrounding peers. However, mainly, I will always think of the unity my school shared.
